sensorialidad remota en acción ahora!

Rita Leduc

en el Hondo en España

Rita está explorando la ubicación de Fred, un humedal lleno de pájaros, texturas y colores.

what Fred says

I was surprised how Rita was sensing my location at a distance by focusing her attention on subtle variations of colors and shapes. She asked me to focus on some details I did not think about before. This experience not only helped me to tie some connections to the land where she is living but helped me greatly to see locally with other senses and go deeper into my expanded identity with the Earth. At the end, I clearly felt a continuity between the two remote continents with several similar species, colors and even memories of smells of the brown wet leaves at the reservoir.

what Rita says

I have heard quite a bit about the wetland on which Fred spends much of his time, so to interact more intimately with this location was a special treat. In addition to learning more about the environment, however, I was also able to learn more about Fred. Since art is not standardized, neither are artists. Fred and I put different "feet" forward when engaging with a location, so the opportunity to learn through his eyes (and other senses) was informative in ways that I couldn't replicate even if I was physically there. Soon, in addition to feeling like I was traveling to Spain, I felt like I was traveling into Fred. Now in addition to absorbing how Rita absorbs, I can kind of "turn on" how Fred absorbs, which offers me a whole other dimension of engagement with a place.

what Fred says

I am slowly expanding my ecological identity in Australia by following Tracey's invitation to explore some beaches she loves and a little wetland in the middle of the city. I was trhilled to discover the presence of Ibis birds and could compare with great interes the differences with the spanish ibis from my location.

Tracey Benson

en el Hondo en España

¡Tracey está explorando la ubicación de Fred, un humedal lleno de pájaros y árboles interesantes también!

what Fred says

Tracey's interest for trees is a great opportunity to map some interesting trees at the wetland and countryside. It helps me to go deeper into the understanding of trees as key node of an ecological web of motion and exchange for a large number of species. I had the good oportunity here to map the story of the two golden Oriola traveling back and forth in 2 trees over and over again during 2 weeks.

Fred Adam

en Granville, Norte de NY

Fred está explorando la ubicación de Dakota, una importante zona minera.

what Fred says

I was surprised to see how it is difficult to move around physically. Dakota needs to ask permission to the land owner to go the river at a few meters from his house. I idiscovered with joy the presence of two beavers at a little pond.

en Hudson Valley

Fred está explorando la ubicación de Rita, un área muy verde con un embalse interesante.

what Fred says

I was impressed by the presence of trees and could sense the secret presence of great animals like deers.

Sharing my daily surroundings with Fred was delightful in the fullest sense. In some ways, I felt a responsibility as virtual host, wanting to curate an authentic experience for someone who has never been physically here. This brought my own perception of my surroundings into sharp focus: a fascinating thing to investigate and question. In other ways though, I felt completely free, at the whim of the environment. Waiting to notice the next thing it would whisper or shout for me to pass along to Fred kept me open, willing. And so the three of us engaged in this exchange, whispering, shouting, smiling, anticipating, wondering, connecting.
